Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Submission Wrestling) is primarily a ground-fighting art. While it contains a variety of standup techniques for winning a fight, it is most famous for its devastating ground fighting. Through leverage and skill, it enables a physically weaker opponent to defeat the larger opponent despite the greater strength difference. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is also known for the variety of techniques available such as chokes, joint locks, escapes, and reversals.
